Get Ready to Soar — The 10th Annual Fly In Festival Lands in Huntington This July. Mark your calendars and pack your camping gear, because one of the Tri-State’s most unique and uplifting music experiences is coming in for a landing! The 10th Annual Fly In Festival touches down July 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2025, at the Robert Newlon Airpark (I41) in Huntington, West Virginia — and our station is proud to be your primary coverage partner for this incredible weekend.
What started as a grassroots celebration of bluegrass and Americana has grown into a full-blown summer tradition, and this year’s milestone 10th anniversary promises to be the biggest and best yet! Here’s what you can expect: starting on Thursday, July 24th gates open at noon, and the party kicks off with a potluck dinner, camping, jamming, and that unbeatable Fly In hospitality. Live music starts on the Main Stage from 6 to 9:30 PM, followed by a late-night karaoke afterparty at the Fly In Café hosted by none other than Karaoke King Larry Adkins.
Onto Friday, July 25th music lovers and pickers can rejoice — workshops begin at 10:00 AM on the patio at the Fly In Café, and the Main Stage lights up from 3 PM to 11 PM with a full evening of toe-tappin’, soul-liftin’ performances. Stay tuned for the official artist lineup — it’s coming soon.
For the rest of the weekend on Saturday, July 26th the day will be packed with excitement and world-class talent like instructional workshops by the legendary Robin Kessinger and special guests from 9 to 11 AM, a kayak and canoe float trip at 10am, the return of the Robin Kessinger West Virginia State Flatpick Guitar Contest — a highlight for pickers and fans alike that runs from 11 AM all the way through 3 PM, and then until Midnight will be a massive Main Stage finale of incredible live music under the stars.
Whether you’re flying in, floating in, or just driving in for a great time, the Fly In Festival is a celebration of music, community, and Appalachian spirit — all set against the backdrop of a scenic airfield where planes, guitars, and friendships take flight. Camping, jamming, contests, and workshops — it’s all at the Fly In Festival.

The First Church of Christ in Grayson is once again opening its heart—and its pantry—to the community today from 9AM until noon at 228 South Carol Malone Blvd.
This monthly food distribution is open to everyone—you don’t have to be a member of the church to take part. Just pull around back and park under the carport, where volunteers will bring the groceries right to your vehicle. It’s drive-thru style, quick, and easy.
Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, so if your pantry is running low or you know someone who could use a little help, mark your calendar and plan to stop by.
It’s just another way neighbors are stepping up to care for one another—because that’s what this community is all about.

Today marks the final opportunity this week for residents in Eastern Carter County to take advantage of the county-wide clean-up campaign, as dumpsters will be available at the Carter County Maintenance Garage in Grayson with the closing time adjusted to 12:30 p.m. due to this week’s excessive heat. The Solid Waste Department reminds all participants that dumpster access has now returned to its regular three-day weekly schedule and urges the public to follow the updated disposal guidelines.
A number of items will not be accepted, including refrigerators, deep freezers, televisions, household garbage, paint, tires, and batteries. In addition, all items must be either bagged or boxed — loose trash will not be collected.
The Carter County Clean-Up campaign operates on a rotating schedule, providing disposal opportunities for both the eastern and western ends of the county. After today’s event, dumpsters will return to the maintenance garage along US 60 in Olive Hill for July 30th through August 1st.
This valuable community service is made possible by the Carter County Solid Waste Department, who continue to support these efforts to keep our neighborhoods clean, safe, and beautiful.
