Here is your reminder about a Traffic Advisory that has been ongoing throughout this week over on KY 752 which is located in Boyd County where the road has been closed for a culvert replacement. Today should be the final scheduled day of both day and nighttime closure for the area. The closurebegan on Monday, when Boyd County crews closed KY 752 (Durbin Road) at mile point 3.0 for a culvert replacement. Barricades will be in place for the public as well as signage. Traffic can bypass from the KY 1937 side using Golden Gate Road and go across to KY 757 to Whites Creek. On the US 23 side they can turn around at Durbin Church.
Road work schedules may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.

For many families across Carter County, community support can make all the difference, and one local organization is once again stepping up to help. The Daily Bread Food Pantry will hold its monthly food distribution this Saturday, June 6th, providing food assistance to eligible Carter County residents. The distribution will take place from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Grayson Free Will Baptist Church, located at 1788 U.S. Highway 60 in Grayson.
Organizers encourage anyone in need of assistance to attend and take advantage of this important community resource. The food pantry serves Carter County residents and works throughout the year to help individuals and families facing food insecurity. Those planning to attend are asked to bring their own bags, totes, or containers to carry food items home. Volunteers also remind visitors not to park at the neighboring church property in order to keep traffic flowing smoothly and to respect surrounding facilities.
Programs like the Daily Bread Food Pantry continue to demonstrate the generosity and compassion that define our community, helping ensure that no neighbor has to face difficult times alone.

Today marks the final opportunity this week for residents in Western Carter County to take advantage of the county-wide clean-up campaign, as dumpsters will be available at the Carter County Maintenance Garage along US 60 until 2:30 p.m. The Solid Waste Department reminds all participants that dumpster access has now returned to its regular three-day weekly schedule and urges the public to follow the updated disposal guidelines.
A number of items will not be accepted, including refrigerators, deep freezers, televisions, household garbage, paint, tires, and batteries. In addition, all items must be either bagged or boxed — loose trash will not be collected.
The Carter County Clean-Up campaign operates on a rotating schedule, providing disposal opportunities for both the eastern and western ends of the county. After today’s event, dumpsters will return to the maintenance garage in Grayson from June 10th through the 12th.
