Get ready, theater fans! The Olive Hill Center for Arts & Heritage has announced their next big production — 9 to 5: The Musical!
Auditions are open to anyone 16 and older, and they’ll take place on Friday, September 12th and Friday, September 19th at 6 p.m. The location is the Olive Hill Center for Arts & Heritage at 120 Comet Drive.
Based on the classic Dolly Parton film, this hilarious and empowering musical is packed with humor, heart, and unforgettable songs.

Love’s Travel Stop in Grayson is bringing some fun to town while raising money for a great cause! On Saturday, September 6th at noon, head over to the Love’s parking lot for a chance to dunk Mayor Troy Combs in the dunking booth. Test your aim, make a splash, and help support UK Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network at the same time.
And that’s not all — there will also be a cake walk happening during the event. So gather your family, bring a friend, and come on out to Love’s Travel Stop in Grayson this Saturday. Dunk the Mayor, win a cake, and help raise money for a great cause.

The Grayson Free Will Baptist Church will be holding their monthly Food Pantry distribution this Saturday, September 6th, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at 1778 U.S. 60 in Grayson.
Please note, due to the number of families served, you must be present to receive pantry items. Guests are also asked to bring their own boxes, totes, or bags to carry food home.

The Commercial Bank of Grayson is inviting the community to safely clear out old paperwork with their upcoming Community Shred Day.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 4th, at the Olive Hill Branch, located at 155 East Tom T. Hall Boulevard. Shredding services will run from 9 AM until 11:30 AM.
Residents are encouraged to bring documents and paper files they want securely destroyed—helping keep sensitive information out of the wrong hands.

Today marks the final opportunity this week for residents in Eastern Carter County to take advantage of the county-wide clean-up campaign, as dumpsters will be available at the Carter County Maintenance Garage in Grayson until 2:30 p.m. The Solid Waste Department reminds all participants that dumpster access has now returned to its regular three-day weekly schedule and urges the public to follow the updated disposal guidelines.
A number of items will not be accepted, including refrigerators, deep freezers, televisions, household garbage, paint, tires, and batteries. In addition, all items must be either bagged or boxed — loose trash will not be collected.
The Carter County Clean-Up campaign operates on a rotating schedule, providing disposal opportunities for both the eastern and western ends of the county. After today’s event, dumpsters will return to the maintenance garage in Grayson from September 10th through the 12th.
This valuable community service is made possible by the Carter County Solid Waste Department, who continue to support these efforts to keep our neighborhoods clean, safe, and beautiful.
