If you’re planning a trip out to Greenbo Lake State Resort Park around the Christmas holiday, here’s an important heads-up to help you plan ahead.
Greenbo has officially closed for the Christmas holiday with the end of year closure beginning this past Friday, December 19th. The park will remain closed throughout the holiday week and will reopen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26th.
For those wanting to stay overnight, rooms at the Jesse Stuart Lodge will be available once again starting the night of December 26th.
If you’re hoping to grab a meal, Anglers Cove Restaurant will be also be re-opening for dinner on Friday, December 26th at 4 p.m.
Park officials also remind visitors that the campground remains closed until spring as crews continue electrical and water renovations.
Everyone at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park wishes the community a very Merry Christmas, and they say they’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back out to the park in 2026.

Here’s an important holiday notice from the Carter County Clerk’s Office for anyone needing to take care of business before Christmas.
Both clerk’s office locations will close early on Monday, December 23rd in observance of the Christmas holiday. The Olive Hill office will close at 11:30 that morning, while the Grayson office will close at noon.
After the holiday break, the Grayson location will reopen on Sunday, December 29th, and the Olive Hill office will resume normal operations on Monday, December 30th.
