You can help make a difference right now by joining Fresh Start Health in their Feed Local Families Drive. It’s easy to lend a hand — just drop off non-perishable food items or sponsor a meal box for a family in need for just $25.
Every donation helps provide fresh meals and groceries for neighbors right here at home — families who could really use a little extra kindness this season.
Some of the most needed items include canned vegetables, beans, and soups, along with rice, pasta, cereal, shelf-stable milk, baby formula, peanut butter, canned proteins, cooking oil, and spices. Every can, box, and bag makes a difference!
Donations can be dropped off at any Fresh Start Health clinic location — in Ashland, Grayson, Vanceburg, or Morehead.
Together, we can make sure no family in our area goes without a meal this season. So pick up a few extra items on your next grocery run, and help Fresh Start Health feed hope and kindness throughout our community.

The Kentucky Blood Center will be set up at the Lusby Center Gym on the KCU campus in Grayson, Monday, November 10th, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is your chance to make a real difference in our community — because every single donation can help save multiple lives right here in Kentucky.

This Veterans Day, the Olive Hill community is coming together to honor the men and women who have served our country.
A Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 12th, beginning at 9 a.m. inside the Olive Hill Elementary School gymnasium. The event is a heartfelt tribute to all who have worn the uniform and defended our freedoms.
If you are a veteran, you are warmly invited to attend and be recognized for your service. And if you know a veteran—please encourage them to come and take part in this special morning of gratitude and remembrance.
Refreshments will be provided following the ceremony, as the community gathers to celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our local heroes.

District Nine of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has officially begun a slide repair on KY 1 here in Carter County. Slide repairs began on KY 1 in Carter County on Tuesday of this week and it will continue to require daytime lane closures just south of KY 773.
The lane closure is daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, continuing for the next couple of weeks. Motorists should expect one-lane flagged traffic during daytime hours on weekdays.
Road work schedules may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
