Carter County clean up dumpster will be on the WEST END this week and open Wednesday through Friday (9/9 - 9/11) 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM

The Carter County Fair rolls into another big night today, and if you’re looking for action, excitement, and plenty of family fun, there’s a lot happening at the fairgrounds.

The Great American Carnival continues today, with rides opening at 6 p.m. Admission is 15 dollars, and that includes your carnival rides, so you can enjoy the midway without having to purchase a separate ride pass.

Families can also visit the Petting Zoo, which will be open from 5:30 until 9 p.m. And if you want to see some of the hard work and creativity submitted by local exhibitors, the Exhibit Hall will be open from 6 until 8 p.m.

Of course, no fair night would be complete without Chase’s Racing Pigs, and you’ll have three opportunities throughout the evening to see these speedy competitors take to the track.

Then at 7 p.m., things get even more exciting with FTC Pro Wrestling coming to the fairgrounds. Wrestling fans can expect an evening of live action and entertainment as the ring takes center stage.

And if high-powered motorsports are more your speed, Tri-State MX Motocross returns to the Motor Arena tonight. Riders can sign up at the fairgrounds, with practice beginning at 6 p.m. and the event getting underway at 7 p.m.

So whether you’re coming for the carnival rides, bringing the kids to see the animals, checking out the exhibits, or looking for some serious entertainment, there’s plenty waiting for you at the Carter County Fair today.

Admission is 15 dollars and carnival rides are included. Come out, enjoy the midway, take in the shows, and make another summer memory at the fair.

Don’t forget about Prichard Elementary’s annual Open House event that is scheduled for this afternoon as a way for officials to welcome students and families back through its doors.

This afternoon’s event will take place from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m., giving students and parents an opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get familiar with the school before the new year officially begins.

School officials say Open House is designed to help families start the year with confidence. Students can see where they’ll be spending their days, parents can learn about classroom expectations and routines, and everyone has a chance to ask questions before the busy first week of school begins.

The event is open to Prichard Elementary families and serves as a chance to reconnect with friends, meet new classmates, and get excited about another year of learning. Staff members say they’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back and helping students get off to a successful start.

Again, Prichard Elementary School’s Open House will be held Thursday, August 13th, from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. Families are encouraged to stop by, meet the staff, and kick off the new school year with Hornet pride.

Prichard won’t be the only active elementary school within the district today as they will be joined by Heritage Elementary School offering their own Open House event.

Students and families will be welcome at the school campus beginning at 4:30 and lasting until 6:30 p.m.

The Open House is a chance to meet your child’s teacher, get important information about the upcoming school year, and become familiar with the school before classes begin. It’s also a great opportunity for students to reconnect with friends and start getting into the back-to-school mindset.

Heritage Elementary is looking forward to welcoming students and families back and getting the new school year off to a great start
