During the last stretch of 2024 Go Radio began an exciting partnership and collaboration with SilentPine to help us better serve our dedicated listeners and community through the World Wide Web. For many years wgohwugo.com has allowed us to offer you a place to catch up on local news stories running in our newscasts, our sports schedules and calendars, and of course read all of the local obituaries. We’re proud to announce that the very same URL can now be used to achieve all of that in a brand new, better looking, and easier to use way.

We’re officially inviting all of our listeners to head on over to wgohwugo.com and explore the new setup. You’ll still have access to all of your local news stories, upcoming sports broadcast information, and even find easy to access links that can help you listen to WGOH or WUGO wherever you are. It’s important for us to let you know that although things may look a little different now, all of the aspects that you know and love about our website are still only one click away.

Whether you’ll be a long or first time user we hope that the new and improved wgohwugo.com website will continue to help you stay up to date with us here on Go Radio. Once again, this brand new feat could not have been possible without the help of SilentPine’s devoted representative Charles Young and we want to thank them for all of their hard work on bringing us into the modern age for our online presence.

Go give us a visit, tune in and listen online, browse the new BYITTS marketplace, read up on everything going on throughout your communities and most importantly enjoy – all of this and even more at wgohwugo.com.

UK King’s Daughters is asking for their community’s participation in the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment – known as the CHNA – which aims to help better understand the area’s top health issues. Kentuckians in Carter, Boyd, and Greenup counties are being asked to participate by filling out the online CHNA survey at KingsDaughtersHealth.com a link to which can be found directly on King’s Daughters Facebook page.

The survey includes questions about access to primary care, health insurance coverage, transportation and use of emergency and urgent care treatment facilities. Participants are asked to identify the top health issues in their communities and the challenges individuals face in accessing healthcare services.

According to representatives from KDMC this survey provides your healthcare providers with a better look into the areas of the community that we as a group feel could use improvement and helps the medical system hone in on them. Survey responses will be used in conjunction with other research to develop plans to address community needs. All responses are strictly confidential and will not be linked to any name, ISP, email or any other identifier. Finally, all results will be available to the public once the survey process has been completed and results analyzed.

Although Christmas is now behind us there’s still one special offering that will remain open for the time being. This year Grayson Tourism brought a new Hometown Ice Rink to life, and it will continue to be open to the public until Monday, January 6th. Please note that operation hours are dependent on both the weather permitting and volunteers being on site to work.

If both of those conditions are met then the Hometown Ice Rink will be open on the following schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays from 5 until 9pm, Saturdays noon until 9pm, and Sundays from 1 until 6. If you have any questions then please reach out and contact Grayson Tourism at 606-474-8740.

We want to remind everyone that a new requirement is now in place for all Kentuckians when it comes to renewing their driver’s license which comes in the form of a vision screening and took affect on the date of January 1st 2025.

According to officials from the KYTC the new vision screening requirement has been enacted through the passed House Bill 439 and “will enhance highway safety by ensuring drivers maintain acceptable vision standards when behind the wheel.” Once this goes into effect at the start of the next calendar year it will essentially ensure that motorists benefit from periodic screenings throughout their driving career on a cycle of every four to eight years depending on the license lifespan they choose. This, in turn, allows drivers on our roadways the peace of mind in knowing that each driver possesses the necessary visual capabilities to safely operate a vehicle, respond to road conditions, and prevent crashes.

For more information on this announcement or the new vision screening requirement you are being invited to visit the KYTC webpage on the matter which can be found at drive.ky.gov/visionscreening.
