Wednesday is Papa John’s Night at the Fair complete with Midway fun, cheesy competition, and motocross thrills. For just $15 admission, enjoy a full evening of entertainment with carnival rides included. The petting zoo runs from 5:30 to 9 pm, and the Exhibit Hall is open for viewing from 6 to 8.
At 6 pm, the Great American Carnival swings into action. Then at 6:30, head to the Midway Stage to sign up for the Talent Show, which kicks off at 7 pm. Got a big appetite? Test your limits in the Papa John’s Pizza Eating Contest at 7:30 — signups happen on-site, but spots are limited.
Over at the Motor Arena, the Tri-State MX Motocross revs up at 7 pm (rider practice starts at 6). Whether you’re in it for the horsepower or the pepperoni, Wednesday night’s got a little something for everyone.
Moving on to Thursday the Carter County Fair will be brought to you by Members Choice Credit Union, and it’s packed with action and flavor. Your $15 admission gets you full access to carnival rides, with the gates opening at 6 pm. Enjoy the petting zoo from 5:30 to 9 pm and stop by the Exhibit Hall between 6 and 8 pm to take in local talent in arts, crafts, and more.
At 7 pm, FTC Pro Wrestling brings the energy and drama to the ring, while motocross fans can once again catch the Tri-State MX Motocross in the Motor Arena — practice starts at 6, show starts at 7.
Then cool off with a sweet treat: the Ice Cream Eating Contest hits the Midway Stage at 8 pm. Sign up at the fairgrounds and bring your best brain freeze face.
Get ready to rumble on Friday — it’s Grayson Tourism Night at the Carter County Fair, and that means only one thing: Demo Derby Night. With $15 admission covering carnival rides, the fairgrounds will be buzzing from start to finish. The petting zoo runs 5:30 to 9, the Exhibit Hall welcomes visitors from 6 to 8, and the carnival opens at 6 pm.
FTC Pro Wrestling returns to the ring at 7, while live paint demonstrations from Haley Bays and Chris Casteel offer a splash of creativity for all ages.
And then… it’s the main event. At 8 pm, the I-64 Motorplex Demolition Derby slams into the Motor Arena. It’s bumper-to-bumper mayhem you won’t want to miss.
Saddle up on Saturday for a rip-roaring good time on the final night of the Carter County Fair — it’s Carter County Tourism Rodeo Night, and we’re going out with a bang. Start the morning by picking up any 4-H or Open Class Exhibit entries between 10 am and noon at the Exhibit Trailer.
Then, the evening fun begins with $15 admission, including carnival rides from 6 pm onward. The petting zoo is open from 5:30 to 9 pm, so bring the kiddos early.
At 7 pm, the James Family Outfitters Best Dressed Cowboy & Cowgirl Contest takes the stage. Then, at 8, the main event kicks off: The King Brothers “Bulls & Barrels” Rodeo presented by Carter County Tourism. It’s the wildest show in town and the perfect way to cap off an incredible fair week.

The Grayson Tourism Commission has released a statement asking anyone who has items stored in the Blue Goose building – including Christmas trees – will need to start making arrangements to have the items removed before the date of Monday, August 11th. The process to begin the demolition of the building is underway, and officials want to make sure that everyone has adequate time to retrieve their items.
On top of this, it was also asked that anyone in possession of a key to the Blue Goose please drop it off inside of the city building at your earliest convenience. Once again the deadline date to pick up any items inside the building is set for Monday, August 11th.

The annual McGlone Creek Reunion is all set to be held on the date of Sunday, August 10th for 2025 and will once again be held inside the McGlone Creek School. Everyone is invited to come out and attend the special event where they will be treated to lunch, friendship, and great memories. The lunch begins at noon and organizers are hoping to have a great turnout this year. Once again that’s the annual McGlone Creek Reunion on Sunday, August 10th.
