Carter County clean up dumpster will be on the WEST END this week and open Wednesday through Friday (9/9 - 9/11) 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a Friday evening this summer, Olive Hill has just the ticket.

“Flicks at the Depot” is bringing free outdoor movies, family entertainment, and plenty of community fun to the Olive Hill Depot, creating a perfect opportunity for families, friends, and neighbors to gather together under the stars.

The evening is much more than just a movie. Organizers are inviting everyone to arrive around 9 p.m. for pre-show activities, including music, games, and a dance party just for kids before the featured family-friendly movie begins.

Throughout the evening, guests can also enjoy local vendors, specialty drinks, face painting, fresh popcorn, and other family activities, making it a complete night out without spending a dime to attend.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket, or even watch from their vehicle while enjoying the outdoor movie experience in the heart of Olive Hill. Whether you’re bringing the kids, meeting up with friends, or simply looking for a relaxing summer evening, organizers say Flicks at the Depot is designed to bring the community together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Events like this continue to showcase the small-town spirit that makes Carter County special, offering families a safe, affordable place to make memories during the summer months.

For movie announcements, vendor information, and any schedule updates, be sure to follow the Flicks at the Depot Facebook page.

So grab your chairs, pack a blanket, bring the family, and head to the Olive Hill Depot for an evening of free entertainment, great company, and a movie under the Kentucky sky. It’s another reminder that some of the best summer memories are made right here at home.

The event runs from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will be hosted by The Hogs Trough, with organizers inviting the entire community to come out for a day filled with impressive vehicles, delicious food, and activities for all ages.

Special categories such as Work in Progress, Power Wheels, and the crowd-favorite Hogs Trough Smoke Show ensure there’s something for every type of automotive enthusiast.

Even if you don’t have a vehicle to enter, organizers encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy the festivities. Admission is by donation, making it an affordable outing for the whole family. Children can also enjoy face painting for just five dollars while parents browse the lineup of classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and custom builds.

Beyond the chrome and horsepower, the event also serves an important purpose. It’s another example of local first responders giving back to the community while bringing people together for a fun-filled summer event.

So whether you’re a lifelong gearhead, a barbecue lover, or simply looking for something enjoyable to do with the family, make plans now to attend the Fire & Smoke Car Show on Saturday, July 11th, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Hogs Trough in Grayson.
