Don’t forget about the ongoing road work in our area from the hardworking crews of District Nine of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. As a closure is being observed this week here in Carter County for some needed draining work and pavement repairs. According to the official release from the KYTC highway crews will temporarily close part of KY 3298 where the area will remain closed through Friday, March 28th for drainage work and pavement repairs. This will be between Goose Creek Road and Seagraves Hollow at mile point 4.4.
Message Boards will be in place to notify public of this closure. US 60 and KY 182 will be alternative routes.
Road work schedules may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.

The Grayson Freewill Baptist Church is letting the community know that its giveaway time this Friday at the church location at 1778 East Highway US 60 in Grayson. This week’s “This and That” giveaway will be offering a little bit of everything including blinds, make-up, drinks, baby food, and so much more. On Friday, March 28th between the hours of 1 and 3pm church officials and volunteers will be on hand to the items to those that turn out.
This is just the latest offering from the Grayson Freewill Baptist Church as they work diligently to help their neighbors, community members, and friends.

The East Carter Raider Football program will be hosting a special Easter celebration with the Egg My Yard Fundraiser set for April 19th. Spots are available and if you’re interested then you’re being advised to reserve your pre-filled eggs to be hidden in your yard the night before Easter. The event even includes a special note from the Easter Bunny himself. The Egg My Yard fundraiser is a great way to make your Easter celebration extra special. It carries a price point of $40 for 50 eggs to be placed or $60 for that to double to 100 eggs.

Today is the day that Carter Countians get another chance to sign up for their REAL ID license right here at as a Pop-up Driver Licensing clinic heads to the Carter County Agricultural Extension Office at 94 Fairground Drive between 9:30am and 3pm. During this time the Driver Licensing Regional Office will be bringing all of the services of their office to Carter County.
During this time KYTC Pop-Up staff will be on-site to assist Carter Countians with the following activities: applying for a REAL ID license, renewing or replacing your current license or state identification card, or even changing your address.
