The 504 Fire Department in Olive Hill is inviting the community to come out for good food and a good cause this Saturday.
The department will host a community fish fry on Saturday, October 3rd, at the 504 Fire Department, located at 6794 State Highway 504 in Olive Hill.
Meals will be available for 15 dollars, giving you a chance to enjoy a good meal while also supporting the men and women who volunteer their time to serve the 504 community.
And that’s an important part of this event. All proceeds from the fish fry will go directly to the 504 Fire Department, helping provide funding for the department and its continued efforts to better serve local residents.
Volunteer fire departments rely heavily on community support to help maintain the equipment, supplies, training and resources needed to answer the call when their neighbors need them.
So this weekend’s fish fry is more than just a meal. It’s an opportunity for the community to come together and show its support for the people who are there to help protect it.
If you live in the 504 area, or anywhere around Olive Hill, make plans to stop by, grab a plate, and support your local volunteer firefighters.
Again, the 504 Fire Department Fish Fry is coming up this Saturday, October 3rd, at 6794 State Highway 504 in Olive Hill.
Meals are 15 dollars, and every dollar raised through the benefit will go directly toward supporting the 504 Fire Department and its efforts to better serve the community.
It’s good food for a good cause, and a simple way to give back to the volunteers who are always ready to give their time when our community needs them.
So come hungry, bring the family, and support the 504 Fire Department this Saturday.

Carter County property owners are being reminded that 2026 property tax bills have been printed and will be going out in the mail soon.
The Carter County Property Valuation Administrator’s Office is asking taxpayers to take a moment to make sure the office has their current mailing address on file.
If you’ve changed your address at any point during the past year, the PVA’s office needs to hear from you as soon as possible so that information can be updated before the tax bills are mailed.
The PVA’s office says they don’t have a way of knowing that an address is incorrect until a bill is returned as undeliverable, so getting that information updated ahead of time could help prevent problems with receiving your tax bill.
You can contact the Carter County PVA Office at 606-474-5663 to update your address.
You can also call or text 606-316-1188, or contact the PVA’s office through its Facebook page.
And there’s another important reminder for Carter County taxpayers: 2026 property tax bills will become payable at the Carter County Sheriff’s Office beginning Thursday, October 1st.
There’s also been a change in where you’ll find the Sheriff’s Office when you go to take care of your tax bill.
The Sheriff’s Office has moved to the first floor of the same building. The office is now located on the First Baptist Church side of the building, using the side entrance directly across from the church. That’s the entrance where the old Health Department was located.
So, if you’re heading out to pay your property taxes beginning October 1st, make sure you know where to go.
Again, 2026 Carter County tax bills have been printed and will be mailed soon.
If you’ve changed your address within the past year, contact the PVA’s office now to make sure your information is up to date.
