Get ready, Carter County — Halloween night is going to be artfully spooky! The Grayson Gallery & Art Center invites everyone to their annual Halloween Art Show and Costume Contest, happening Thursday, October 31st from 6 to 9 p.m.
This isn’t just any show — it’s one of the most popular Final Fridays events of the year, drawing artists and visitors from all across the Tri-State and Eastern Kentucky. Step inside and you’ll find over 75 stunning and spooky works of art, from haunting Halloween imagery to breathtaking autumn scenery — all created by nearly 40 talented artists from dozens of cities across our region.
While you wander the gallery, enjoy live music from From the Hills, a fan-favorite band that’s become a Halloween tradition at the gallery! They’ll be rocking the night with their high-energy mix of classic and southern rock — and if you’re lucky, you might even see a few of your favorite monsters on the dance floor.
Catering by Sheila Marie will keep the refreshments flowing, and there’ll be plenty of fun for everyone with art awards and a costume contest around 7:45 p.m. Cash prizes will be given for People’s Choice and other special categories, plus some cool giveaways — including a $25 gift card from Smith Dungeon Hobby, Toy & Collectible Shop in Grayson.
Admission is free to the public, but donations and musician tips are always appreciated. So grab your costume, bring your friends, and celebrate the creativity and community that make Grayson such a special place.
And don’t forget — the gallery’s next big event, “Thankful for the Arts,” happens the day after Thanksgiving, on November 28th.

You can help make a difference right now by joining Fresh Start Health in their Feed Local Families Drive. It’s easy to lend a hand — just drop off non-perishable food items or sponsor a meal box for a family in need for just $25.
Every donation helps provide fresh meals and groceries for neighbors right here at home — families who could really use a little extra kindness this season.
Some of the most needed items include canned vegetables, beans, and soups, along with rice, pasta, cereal, shelf-stable milk, baby formula, peanut butter, canned proteins, cooking oil, and spices. Every can, box, and bag makes a difference!
Donations can be dropped off at any Fresh Start Health clinic location — in Ashland, Grayson, Vanceburg, or Morehead.

On Wednesday, October 30th, from 6 to 8 p.m., the folks at Grayson Free Will Baptist Church invite you to roll on over for a Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat that’s packed with fun, candy, and even Squishmallows!
Just stay in your car and cruise through as volunteers — in their spookiest costumes — hand out Halloween treats, smiles, and surprises for kids of all ages. It’s a safe, easy, and festive way to celebrate the season without even leaving your seat.
The event is happening at Grayson Free Will Baptist Church, right along US 60 East of Grayson, and it’s a joint effort with the Daily Bread Food Pantry, spreading not only candy but also community kindness. So load up your little monsters, witches, and superheroes, and head out for some good old-fashioned Halloween joy — the drive-thru way.
