Attention local artists — here’s your chance to shine. Grayson Octoberfest and Black Water Studio are teaming up to bring art to Main Street with the very first ARToberfest Art Show, happening Saturday, October 25th at 112 West Main Street in Grayson.
This special pop-up gallery will celebrate artists of all levels and backgrounds, featuring painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, glass, textile, and digital art. Submissions are free, and you can submit up to three pieces—just make sure your work is ready to display and labeled with your name on the back.
The deadline to submit is October 22nd, so don’t wait! You can drop off your artwork Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grayson City Building, or at Black Water Studio on Saturdays from 11 to 3. Need a different time? Just reach out and they’ll make arrangements.
There’s no set theme, but since this is a community event, artwork should be suitable for all audiences. Artists ages 14 and up are welcome to enter, and awards will include a People’s Choice Award, where visitors vote for their favorite piece.

If you love supporting local heroes and filling your freezer, here’s your chance to do both! The Grayson Fire Department is holding a Hog Raffle — and one lucky winner is taking home a whole hog, custom cut just the way you like it.
Tickets are just $10 each, or you can grab three for $25. The winner will work directly with Opell Meats in Catlettsburg to select the perfect cut for every portion — hams, loins, ribs, and more. You can even make special requests for how you want it processed — just note, any extras come at your own cost — and the winner will handle pickup once the order’s ready.
You can buy tickets right now at the Grayson Fire Department at 316 East 3rd Street, or through Venmo at @KFA2026 — just be sure to include your name and phone number in the notes. You can also message the department’s Facebook page to get yours.
The big drawing will take place on December 1st, 2025, and every single dollar raised goes toward helping the department host the 2026 Kentucky Firefighters Association Conference — right here in Grayson — where Deputy Chief Eddie Rucker will proudly serve as KFA President.
