One of Eastern Kentucky’s most heartfelt and highly anticipated music festivals is almost here — and this one strikes a chord that goes far beyond the stage. The Orange Army Bluegrass Festival is set to return to Olive Hill from Thursday, July 31st through Saturday, August 2nd, bringing with it not just world-class bluegrass music, but a powerful mission of love, support, and community.
Held at 155 Samuel L. Waggoner Memorial Drive, this annual event is more than a good time — it’s a lifeline. The Orange Army Bluegrass Festival is a non-profit effort devoted to raising both funds and awareness for cancer patients across Eastern Kentucky. Every single penny of profit — 100 percent — goes toward providing critical support for those fighting cancer: things like transportation, meals, housing, and income assistance during treatment.
And while the cause is noble, the entertainment lineup is nothing short of spectacular! Here’s a taste of what’s to come: on Thursday, July 31st Union Town kicks things off at 4 PM, followed by crowd favorites like Blue Debut, Silver Dollar Band, West Liberty Mountain Boys, and a headliner set by Keith Prater & Lacy Creek at 10 PM.
Moving on to Friday, August 1st, you are set to enjoy performances from Turning Ground, Billie Renee & Cumberland Gap, Lincoln Mash & Heather Alley, Appalachian Roadshow, and Hammertowne closing the night at 10 PM.
And then for Saturday, August 2nd it’s a jam-packed day with acts like Open Highway, Lonesome Express, Junior Sisk, Shannon Slaughter, and Billy Droze & Kentucky Blue featuring Gary Nichols to bring the house down at 10 PM!
Tickets are affordable and family-friendly set for the following prices: $40 for Thursday, $50 for Friday or Saturday, or you can grab a weekend pass for $100. Kids 13–18 are half price and children 12 and under get in for free. Weekend camping is also available for just $125.

Get Ready to Rock the Block — The Blue Line Block Party Returns to Olive Hill!
Summer fun is rolling into Olive Hill in a big way as the Olive Hill Police Department invites the entire community to come out and celebrate at the Blue Line Block Party! It’s all happening Saturday, July 19th from 2 to 6 PM at The Depot, and you’re not going to want to miss a single moment of it. This family-friendly bash is all about building bridges, sharing laughs, and making memories — and yes, there’s even a chance to dunk a police officer in the classic dunk tank! Bring your best aim and get ready to make a splash.
Live music will be filling the air, while kids can burn off some energy in the bounce house, meet the department’s four-legged K9 heroes, and enjoy a variety of games and surprises throughout the day. And don’t worry about lunch — the grill will be going with FREE hot dogs for all, courtesy of your friendly neighborhood officers.

The weekly meeting series is held every Tuesday evening at the First Church of Christ on Pomeroy Street in Grayson, with this week’s session beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program offers a welcoming and judgment-free environment where individuals can take steps toward healing and victorious living.
Celebrate Recovery is designed to help those facing addiction, anger, depression, emotional stress, and a wide range of life struggles. Each week includes both large group teachings and small group discussions, giving attendees a chance to connect and grow in a safe, structured space.
No matter where you are in your journey, all are welcome, and a free meal is offered to everyone who attends.
For many, it’s become a powerful weekly reset—and a reminder that no one has to face life’s battles alone.
