The Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce is once again preparing to partner up with Kentucky Christian University to offer a free job fair and hiring event that will help to connect eligible hires and those looking for work with the great businesses throughout Carter County.
The upcoming fair will be held next month on the date of Wednesday, March 19th inside the KCU Gymnasium at 100 Academic Parkway in Grayson. Currently reservations are open for businesses that want to get involved and be a part of this event – they can register at graysonchamber.com under job fair or by calling 606-474-4401 for more information.
For job seekers that plan on attending the event please work on having an up-to-date resume handy for you to bring to the fair. In the past these events have led to on-the-spot interviews and the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce along with Kentucky Christian University want everyone to be prepared for any employment opportunity that heads their way through this job fair and hiring event.
Once again it is scheduled for the date of Wednesday, March 19th from 10am until 1pm.

This week is Read Across America Week and Prichard Elementary is going all in on enjoying the festivities. Each school day for this week through Friday, March 7th is giving students a chance to celebrate in a brand new way. Monday was superhero day, today is a chance to dress up as your favorite book character, Wednesday students can show that they are wild about reading by wearing animal print, Thursday give a hats off to reading with fun headwear, and Friday is a comfortable PJ day to cozy up with a good book.
Also running throughout the week will be the Spring Book Fair for the elementary school in the Prichard Library from 8 and until 3pm each day. An open family night will be held Thursday from 5 until 7pm and everyone is invited to come out and join Prichard for an event of reading, snack, and of course plenty of fun. Storyteller Mark Daniel will be on hand as the entertainment for the evening. This open house is hosted by the Prichard Family Resource Center in collaboration with the Prichard Committee.
If you have a student that attends Prichard Elementary school help them celebrate Read Across America week all through this Friday.

The Carter County Health Department is all set to host their first annual Hula into Health resource fair. It’ll head our way on Saturday, April 12th where games, prizes, fun, and more including vendors will be on site. Giveaways and a free BBQ sandwich lunch will be held as well.

The Grayson Freewill Baptist Church has announced that they will be hosting a food giveaway this coming Saturday at the church location at 1778 US 60 in Grayson. Between the hours of 10am and 12 noon on March 8th the community is invited to lineup through the church parking lot and wait to receive their food. Please remember that you are asked to bring bags, totes, boxes, etc to load up the day’s donations.
If you plan on participating in this month’s food giveaway then please stay in your car when you arrive in the church parking lot and do not block or park at the church door. Once again the giveaway will be held this coming Saturday, March 8th from 10am until 12 noon.

Celebrate Recovery, a weekly meeting series held at the First Church of Christ in Grayson on Pomeroy Street, will begin tonight’s meeting at 6:30pm. At the meetings those in attendance will learn the secrets of victorious living over issues such as: addictions, anger, depression, mental stresses, and much more. Large and small group meetings will be held each week. All are welcome to attend, and free food will be offered to all who are in attendance.
