The East Carter Raider Football program will be hosting a special Easter celebration with the Egg My Yard Fundraiser set for April 19th. Spots are available and if you’re interested then you’re being advised to reserve your pre-filled eggs to be hidden in your yard the night before Easter. The event even includes a special note from the Easter Bunny himself. The Egg My Yard fundraiser is a great way to make your Easter celebration extra special. It carries a price point of $40 for 50 eggs to be placed or $60 for that to double to 100 eggs.

April is all set as the annual National Poetry Month and your own Carter County Poetry Society will be celebrating by hosting a special Community Reading in partnership with the Young Library on the campus of Kentucky Christian University. This event will be held on Saturday, April 12th beginning at 12 noon and running through 3pm.
The entire community is invited to attend, listen, and share their own works – but anyone wanting to get involved is reminded that all pieces should be family friendly.

Team Kentucky is getting ready to present a special Superheroes for Kids camp in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month in April. The northeastern service region will hold the event on the date of Friday, April 18th from 4:30 until 7pm at the Grayson Sports Park located at 596 Robert & Mary Street – the event will see free food, prizes and toys, plenty of games, an egg hunt, and even community partners all set up for everyone to enjoy.
Admission to the event will be free and everyone is welcome to come out and participate in this special Superheroes for Kids camp in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Officials in charge of the Carter County Clean-Up campaign have announced that they will be on East end of Carter County this week – and will be returning to availability for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Dumpsters will be open at the maintenance garage located in Grayson where clean-up personnel will be on site to help you unload your garbage between the hours of 8am and 2:30pm.
The County Clean-Up has now extended their list of non-accepted items to include: refrigerators, deep freezers, or televisions that’s along with household garbage, paint, tires, and batteries – please note that none of these items will be collected. Also remember that all garbage must also be bagged or boxed with no loose items being collected on site. The County Clean-Up campaign works on a rotating schedule and alternate between the East and West end of our county on a bi-weekly basis. After their stay this week it has been announced that dumpsters will be returning to the Maintenance Garage along US 60 on the dates of April 9th through the 11th.
Once again dumpsters will be open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week on the East end of the county between the hours of 8am and 2:30pm.
