Ada Maxine Johnson, 78, of Curtice, OH passed away on February 15, 2025 at St. Charles Hospital. She was born to Luther O. and Eloise C. (Bollinger) Carder on March 28, 1946. Ada would go on to meet Ray Johnson and celebrate 41 years of marriage before his passing in 2005.
Ada was a homemaker, known for being a caretaker and helping others when needed. She was passionate about fishing. She enjoyed being with her family and would often babysit for members who needed the help. At times she could be like a drill sergeant, but was known to take care of everyone with love. In addition to fishing, Ada found joy in gardening, baking, sewing, and canning.
Ada is survived by her children, Trina (David) Knipp and Randy Johnson; sisters, Clara Jadlocki, Valaen Karen Hauser, and Cheryl (Doug) Curns; brother, Ricky Carder; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and canine pal Sara Ray. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, sons Cole and Raymond, grandson Brian, sisters Sandra, Linda, and Donna and brothers Richard, Delmar, William, and Robert.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 12 – 4:00 p.m. where a Funeral service will be held beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A graveside service will be 1 pm Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson, KY. Malone Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to handle local services.
