Betty Nolen Buckner, age 85, of Camp Dix, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Thursday, December 5, 1940, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Earsel and Ethel Butler Nolen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Wilford Buckner; one daughter, Lisa Buckner; three brothers, William Nolen, Bobby Nolen, Larry Nolen; two sisters, Rosemary Nolen, Bonnie Rister; two sons-in-law, Dallas Rickett and David Rister.
Betty is survived by six sons, Wilford Buckner, Lonnie (Rhonda) Buckner, Rickie (Tracy) Buckner, Dannie (Junnie) Buckner, Darrell (Amy) Buckner, John (Andrea) Scott all of Vanceburg, Kentucky; four daughters, Patricia (Gary) Carpenter, Wanda Rickett all of Vanceburg, Kentucky Pam Buckner (Peyton Eulett), of Fleming County, Kentucky Rita Rister of Vanceburg, Kentucky; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Homer Nolen of Vanceburg, Kentucky; one sister, Ruth Carroll of Vanceburg, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road, Vanceburg, Kentucky with Brother Rickie Buckner and Brother Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery on Highway 59 in Lewis County.
Friends may visit after 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2026, until the service hour at Globe Family Funeral Chapel.
Kendal Buckner, Tommy Buckner, Brandon Buckner, Shawn Carpenter, Selby Buckner, Greg Rister, will serve as pallbearers.
Wilford Buckner, Lonnie Buckner, Rickie Buckner, Dannie Buckner, Darrell Buckner and John Scott will serve as honorary pallbearers.
