Betty “Zane” Terry Criswell, 78, of Grayson, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Born February 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John Russell and Lulu Belle Nipp Terry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Clay Criswell; two sisters, Karen Stephens and Nancy Terry; and one brother, Ernie Terry.
A devoted Christian, Zane’s faith anchored every aspect of her life. She carried a joyful, contagious spirit, and a warm welcoming heart that touched everyone she met. Zane’s love of horses, especially Tennessee Walking Horses, brought her endless joy—whether riding or displaying them at shows. She also held a soft spot for dogs, extending kindness and care to every furry friend she knew.
Zane is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, David “Randy” Criswell; one son, Christopher Aaron (Azra Variscic) Criswell of Yucca Valley, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Malone Funeral Home, with Bob Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Grayson Memorial Park. Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
