Brian Leslie McDavid, age 65, of Willard, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the UK King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born on May 13, 1960, in Ashland, he was the beloved son of Joyce Elaine Dranvestott McDavid and the late James Leslie “Joe” McDavid.
Brian was a dedicated boilermaker with Local 105, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his hard work and commitment. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the great outdoors. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his granddaughters, Elyssa “Laney” Blevins-Queen and Adria Queen.
In addition to his mother, Brian is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sherri Walker McDavid; his daughter, Melanie (Jason) Queen of Ashland; two brothers, Ronald McDavid of Flatwoods and Gary McDavid of Willard; and a cherished group of nieces and nephews, including Ashlie (Nick) Roe, Craig (Wrendi) McDavid, and Kayla (Brady) Whitley. He also leaves behind three great-nephews, Arnie McDavid, Ollie McDavid, and Logan Whitley, and a great-niece, Willow Whitley; a sister-in-law, Leetta (Gary) Jackson; a brother-in-law, Kevin Walker; and a host of friends and extended family.
Brian was preceded in death by his father and a son-in-law, Andy Blevins, his father and mother-in-law, Leondas and Helen Walker; and a brother-in-law, Ward Walker; whose memory will also be honored in the hearts of those who loved him.
A graveside service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson, with Bro. Tim Porter and Bro. Ryan Jackson officiating. The Malone Funeral Home in Grayson is honored to assist the family during this difficult time.
