Byron Dale McDavid, 71, of Grayson went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the UK Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Byron was born January 2, 1954 in Grayson a son of the late, Harold Gene and Elsie Jane Sergent McDavid. In addition to his parents, Byron was preceded in death by two brothers, Frankie E. McDavid and Steve H. McDavid; and a brother-in-law, Duke Adams. Byron was a member of the first graduating class of 1972 at East Carter High School. Byron retired from the Boilermakers Local 40. Byron loved to play guitar and most of all loved spending time with his devoted family. Byron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria Jean Gibson McDavid; two daughters, Rebecca (Mike Felty) McDavid of Grayson and Christina Wilson of Mayfield, KY; two sons, Jeremy McDavid and James Jarvis both of Grayson; 5 grandchildren; Zach (Amber) Cathey, Hannah Cathey, Ethan Felty, Brookelynn Felty and Evan McDavid; four great-grandchildren, Sabastian, Ellianna, Teagan and Amira; three sisters, Brenda Porter, Linda Adams and Janie (Zane) Carter all of Grayson; a brother, Kevin “Mooch” (Alice) McDavid of Grayson KY; a sister-in-law, Drema McDavid; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
