Carmel Holbrook, 78, of Grayson, KY, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his residence. Carmel was born on Monday, April 29, 1946, in Olive Hill, KY a son of the late Joe and Edna Bowling Holbrook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings Arvil Holbrook, Ernest Holbrook, Madge Mabry, and Naomi Stamper.
Carmel had a strong work ethic. He drove a tractor trailer for many years along with being the owner and operator of Holbrook Excavating. Carmel enjoyed going hunting, tinkering around on engines, and watching wrestling.
Carmel is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Virginia Boggs Holbrook; one son, Johnny (Sandra) Salyers; one daughter, Terrisa (Craig) Short; two grandchildren, Brandon Short and Miranda Short; along with a host of extended family and friends that will mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Malone Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Friday. Condolences may be sent to the Holbrook family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
