Daisy Catherine Calvert McCann, 93, of Tollesboro, Kentucky, went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus on January 16th, 2026.
Daisy was born May 18th, 1932, to Fred and Doris Calvert at their home in Tollesboro. Daisy lived to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Anyone that knew her knew she was a faithful woman of God. Many people looked up to Daisy and admired her for her strong faith. Daisy had a radiant smile that could light up the room and had a compassionate soul. Daisy loved to play piano and sing in church. She married the love of her life, Carl Harold McCann, on August 6th, 1949. They were happily married in love for 62 years, just shy of 63, when Carl passed July 14th, 2012. If you ever saw Carl, chances are you saw Daisy by his side whether it was building houses, his time serving in the army, farming, at church singing and preaching, traveling; you name it, they were together. Carl preached at Poplar Flat Church for 30 years and Daisy sang with him, played piano, and led Sunday school class.
Daisy was a mother to her one and only child, Carla Jean McCann Lykins, whom she cherished and loved so deeply, in a way only a mother can.
Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl McCann; her sisters, Carol Moore, Ellen Deal McCann, and Frances Polley; her brothers, Bill Calvert and Denny Calvert; her son-in-law, Bob Lykins; her brother-in-laws, Dean McCann, Don McCann, and Herschel Polley; her sister-in-laws; Cathleen Cox and Darlene Fallin; and her parents, Fred and Doris Calvert.
Daisy is survived by her daughter, Carla Lykins; her grandson, Josh Lykins (Sabrina); her great-granddaughter, McKenley Mercado (Mario); her great-great-grandson, Enzo Mercado; her brother-in-laws, Jim McCann (Sue), Bill McCann (Pat), and Tom McCann (Kitty); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all sadly miss her.
Picturing Miss Daisy now, she is in heaven with her feet in a creek, singing hymns with her love, Carl once again, along with the angelic choir.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at 11 am at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services 11918 KY 57, Tollesboro, KY. 41189 with Brother Kent Moore, Brother John Lewis, and Brother Danny Butler officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 from 6 pm till 8 pm and Friday, January 23rd, 2026 from 9 am till time of service.
Mario Mercado, Josh Lykins, Kent Moore, Billy Fisher, Lathe Brady, and John Lewis will serve as pallbearers.
Jim McCann, Bill McCann, Tom McCann, McKenley Mercado, and Enzo Mercado will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Donations can be made in Daisy’s memory to Hospice of Hope or Salem Community Church.
