Dennis “Denny” Thomas, age 69, of Tollesboro, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at his residence.
He was born June 12, 1955, in Mason County, Kentucky, a son of the late Hinton and Velma McNutt Thomas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellsworth “Snooks” Thomas and Gary Thomas.
Denny was a life long farmer, owner and operator of Thomas Excavating and a member of Tollesboro Fire Department for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one son Wes (Kathy) Thomas of Tollesboro, Kentucky; one daughter, Trish (David) Hampton of Tollesboro, Kentucky; 3 grandchildren, Blake Hampton, Weston Thomas, Adam Hampton; four sisters, Wilda “Tee” Werline of Orleans, Indiana, Christi Moffett of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Nickie Applegate, and Kelly Thomas both of Maysville, Kentucky, his companion, Sue Tichenor, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held, 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services. 11918, KY 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky with Brother John Byard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
David Hampton, Blake Hampton, Weston Thomas, Jim Meadows, Matthew Meadows and John Lykins will serve as pallbearers.
