Denzil David Barker, 88, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at his residence following a brief illness. Denzil was born July 2, 1937, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late David and Blanche Ison Barker. He retired from Local 40, Elizabethtown, KY as a boilermaker, and he served his country proudly as an Air Force veteran. Denzil was preceded in death by a son, Barry Barker, sisters, Lucille McSory and Dorothy Ison, brothers, Richard, Allen, and Ralph Barker. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patt Smith Barker, son Kenneth (Sheri) Barker of Dayton, OH, daughter, Denise (Dan) Baugh of Grayson, sister, Marcella (Clint) Manning of Grayson, five grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss him.
A celebration of life Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at Sts. Johns and Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grayson, with Father Danny Taylor, officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East on Monday, 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
