Donna R. Carter, 93, of Grayson, KY went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Donna was born on Sunday, September 13, 1931, in Grayson, KY a daughter of the late W.B. and Sadie Forrest Roberts. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Carter; and her six siblings.
Donna was a Christian and member of the Goebel Memorial Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family dearly. Donna enjoyed travelling and going on trips with her family. She loved quilting, sitting on the porch, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles. In her free time, Donna could be found hanging out at the Senior Citizen Center in Grayson where she made many friends.
Donna is survived by three sons, Joel (Donna Marcum) Carter, Pat (Becky) Carter both of Grayson, KY and Ben (Sandy) Carter of Ocala, FL; one daughter, Becky (Richard) Kratzenberg of Grayson, KY; nine grandchildren, Misty (Scott) Menifee, April (Derek) Alexander, Amanda (Collin) Williams, Sarah Carter, Amy Carter, Jasmine (Jimmy Burton) Kratzenberg, Nicholas Kratzenberg, Ashley (Clinton) Cox, and Cole (Kate) Carter; seven great-grandchildren, Austin (Alesha) Alexander, Sadie (Paul) Disney, Macy Menifee, Gabriel Williams, Bella Williams, Ivy Grace Cox, and Lilly Faith Cox; three great- great grandchildren, Drake Alexander, Abigail Disney, and Miles Disney; several beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and extended family that will mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Malone Funeral Home with Collin Williams, minister. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2025, and after 10:00 AM until the service hour on Monday. Condolences may be sent to the Carter family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
