Frances Adkins, 85, of South Shore, KY, peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Somerville, TN. Born on April 5, 1940, Frances was a beloved daughter of the late Lester and Emma (Maddix) Wells.
Frances was a devoted wife to her late husband, Donald Adkins, and a loving mother to her children. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Debra K. McGlone, and her siblings: brother Ralph Wells and sisters Garnett Wells, Guyneth Holbrook, and Judy Scifres.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her son, Stephen Adkins of Somerville, TN, and her son-in-law, Leonard McGlone of South Shore, KY. Frances was a proud grandmother to Jason McGlone, Aaron McGlone, Reagan (Adkins) Nelson, and Ryan Elizabeth (Adkins) Harrison, and a doting great-grandmother to Whitley, Titus, Addison, Nora, and Sadie McGlone. She is also survived by her brothers Carl Wells and Lester Wells, sisters Shirley Kilgore and Janet Talbot, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Frances was known for her warm heart, unwavering faith, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Malone Funeral Home, with her grandson, Bro. Jason McGlone, officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. Visitation will take place on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron McGlone, Titus McGlone, Roger Adkins, Josh Nelson, and Griffin Harrison.
