Franklin Edward “Frank” Evans, age 84, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Harbor Healthcare of Ironton in Ironton, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Wednesday, September 24, 1941, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late William Vernon and Nora Henderson Evans.
Frank was a member of the United Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and working in his garden, that he was always so proud of.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Emerson Evans, Othar ”Gene’’ Evans, Theodore Evans, Bob Evans, Paul Evans; four sisters, Barb Fannin, Betty Oakland, Joy Haywood and Cressie Campbell.
Franklin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Irene Rayburn Evans; four sons, Jeffery (Angie) Evans of Grayson, Kentucky, Vernon (Anita) Evans of Louisa, Kentucky, Paul (Wilma) Evans of Louisa, Kentucky, Mark (Jennifer) Evans of Olive Hill, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Casey, Sydney, Harrison, Braden, Josh, Daniel, Madison, Andrew, MaKayla, Emily; 9 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Isaac, Skyllar, Lucas, Oliver, Freddy, Truman, Hattie, Hollis; two brothers, Walter Evans of Richmond, Indiana, Donnie Evans of Texas, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Harrison Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Rayburn Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 10 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026, until the service hour at the funeral home.
Jeff Evans, Vernon Evans, Paul Evans, Mark Evans, Braden Evans and Andrew Evans will serve as pallbearers.
