Gayle Edward Truesdell, age 85, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his residence.
He was born September 16, 1939, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Carl and Alice Bayless Truesdell.
Gayle loved playing his guitar, praising and worshiping his Lord and Savior at Petersville Church of God with his church family. He enjoyed working on old cars, going on fishing trips and spending time with his family. Gayle was also a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Lou Brown Truesdell; two sons, Timothy Gayle Truesdell, Steven Dale Truesdell; two grandchildren, Natoshia Truesdell, Frankie Jean Truesdell; one great-grandson Espn Hunt; two daughter-in-laws, Anna Truesdell, Patty Truesdell; three brothers, Delbert Truesdell, John Truesdell, Larry Truesdell; two sisters, Effie Dixon and Edna Littleton.
Gayle is survived by three sons, Johnny Frankie Truesdell of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Phillip Truesdell of Ripley, Ohio, Dennis (Lisa) Truesdell of Orangeburg, Kentucky; one daughter, Jeannette (Eddie) Muran of Poplar Grove, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Truesdell of Orangeburg, Kentucky; two brothers, Tommy “Opie” Truesdell, Kenny (Janie) Truesdell all of Vanceburg, Kentucky; three sisters, Judy Highfield, Linda Conley both of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Sandy (Mike) Brammel of West Union, Ohio, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky with Brother Milton Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery in Mason County, Kentucky..
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025, and after 9 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025, until the service hour at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Nathan Truesdell, Edward Moran, Steven Truesdell, Chris Truesdell, Eddie Moran and Hunter Truesdell will serve as pallbearers.
Kyler Truesdell, Dwayne Meadows and Mark Barnett will serve as honorary pallbearers.
