Harry Joe “Joe Mac” McDavid, 81, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by his family in Trinity Station in Flatwoods. Joe was born on September 15, 1943, in Carter County, a son of the late Robert and Ovanelle Criswell McDavid. Joe was a retired Boilermaker out of Local 40 in Elizabethtown, a member of the Grayson First Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. Joe loved to always fish and be outdoors. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Noel McDavid; daughter, Kelli Fleeman; stepson, Michael Bond; brothers, Patrick McDavid, Robert McDavid, Phillip McDavid and Danny McDavid. His survivors include his wife of 36 years, Dotty Collins McDavid; daughters, Kimberly (Bert) Bayes, Amy (Darrin) Hackney and Jamie (Cloid) Rodkey all of Grayson; sisters, Jean Bush of Grayson and Judy (Bill) Coburn of Westwood, KY; 17 grandchildren and 13, great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Joed Rice and Bill Coburn, officiating. The burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens. The visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Brayden Bayes, Joseph Willis, Dustin Bond, J.T. Wellman, Adam Fleeman, Rick Delp and Wade Wilburn; honorary pallbearers will be Jim Everman, Don Shears, Mike Bush, Brent McDavid and Sean McDavid.
