James Roland Blevins, age 64, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the UK King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born on March 5, 1961, in Carter County, Kentucky, he was the beloved son of the late James Cleveland and Lois Holton Blevins.
James was a dedicated mechanic and tow truck operator, known for his unwavering work ethic and his ability to lend a helping hand to those in need. His passion for music brought joy to many, and he often shared his love for melodies with family and friends. A devoted member of Raceland First Baptist Church, James found strength and community in his faith, which guided him throughout his life.
He cherished the simple pleasures, especially the time spent with his beloved dog, Petunia, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was the center of his world. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen A. Wilburn Blevins; his son, Christopher King of Grayson; his daughter, Ashley Blevins of Ashland; and eight adoring grandchildren: Laiah King, Harmony King, Teagan King, Chance Sisler, Haylee Sisler, Brayden Kelley, Andrew Kelley, and Ella Kelley; a step-son, Donnie Lee Sisler of Ashland; and a step-daughter, Marianne Sisler of Ironton, OH.
James is also survived by his brother, Paul Blevins of Long View, Texas; four sisters, Phyllis Hydrick and Helen Murray, both of Long View, Texas, Vickie Young of Ironton, Ohio, and Samantha Lynd of Ashland, Kentucky; as well as a host of close friends and extended family who will deeply miss his presence.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ray Blevins.
A celebration of James’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 6 PM at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with visitation beginning at 5 PM until the service hour.
