James Stone, age 42, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Rowan County, Kentucky.
He was born Wednesday, February 1, 1984, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Larry and Linda Boggs Stone.
James was a concrete finisher. He loved working, watching University of Kentucky sports, wood crafting, animals and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Michael Stone.
James is survived by his companion of 22 years, Joyce Stapleton of Morehead, Kentucky; two sons, Brayden Stone and Kage Stone, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Lola Stone of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother, Joey (Carissa) Stone of Olive Hill, Kentucky; along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother David Rayburn officiating.
Friends may visit after 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2026, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
