Jessie Carolyn Cooper Davis, age 80, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 11, 2025, at Southern Ohio Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 13, 1944, in Adams County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jesse Andrew Cooper and Peachie Meeker Pendell.
Carol was a member of Vanceburg Church of God and loved going to church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, decorating her yard for holidays and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Randy Davis and one sister, Phyllis Johnson.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, James Estes Davis; two daughters, Sandy Bevins, Donna (Butch) Polley all of Vanceburg, Kentucky; two sons, Jeff (Stacey) Davis, Charles (Susie) Davis all of Springfield, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Corey (Shelley) Lewis, Lucy (Ryan) Owens, Zack (Megan) Davis, Kaleb Davis, Vickie (Joe) Penwell, Trisha (Craig) Isaac; 7 great-grandchildren, Susie Owens, Lucas Crooks, Bailey Crooks, Luke Davis, Mya Davis, Samantha Isaac, Wyatt Isaac; four brothers, Daivd Pendell, Andrew (Kathy) Cooper, Mike (Jennifer) Cooper all of Peebles, Ohio, Steven Cooper of Seaman, Ohio; six sisters, Mary Lou Unger, Erma (Gary) Hoop all of Peebles, Ohio, Diane “Hudie” (Mitch) Wilson of Vanceburg, Kentucky; Edna (Terry) Turner of Beaufort, South Carolina, Janet Hooten of San Diego, California and Earlene (Frank) Hammond of Clermont, Georgia, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Brother Bryan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and after 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, until the service hour at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Corey Lewis, Ryan Owens, Zack Davis, Kaleb Davis, Andrew Cooper and Mike Cooper will serve as pallbearers.
Mitchie Wilson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vanceburg Church of God Fellowship Fund.
