Jewell Mae Corns Wilson, age 86, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at UK-St. Claire Healthcare Center in Morehead, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Friday, May 6, 1938, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Paris and Viola Maynard Corns.
Jewell was a member of Vanceburg Church Of God and Petersville Church of God. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. She enjoyed watching her two favorite tv shows, Cheyenne and Walker and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace Corns, Ernest Corns and one sister Ruby Cooper.
Jewell is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Douglas Wilson; one son Mitchell (Diana) Wilson of Vanceburg, Kentucky; one very special grandson, Mitchell Wilson II, the love of her life; two brothers, Leonard Corns of Camp Dix, Kentucky, Charles (Norma) Corns of Bucyrus, Ohio; two sisters, Janet Thompson of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Freida Kamer of Columbus, Ohio, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Brother Brian Williams and Brother Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Gulley Cemetery in Lewis County.
Friends may visit after 12 noon, Thursday, January 9, 2025, until the service hour, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
