Jimmy John Bond, aged 55, of Hitchins, Kentucky, peacefully passed away to be with his Lord on June 5, 2026, at UK Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland after a sudden illness.
Born on August 18, 1970, he was the beloved son of Nellie Bond and the late Oliver “OR” Bond. Jimmy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Delie Bond, and his maternal grandparents, Harold and Catherine Knipp.
Jimmy leaves behind two cherished daughters, Jamie Lynn Bond of Hitchins and Maggie Chaney of Grayson, as well as two treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers: Bobby (Christy) Bond and Richard (Kathy) Bond, both of Hitchins, and Ronnie (Kandy) Bond of Kenova, West Virginia. His loving sisters, Delie (Eugene) Eldridge and Dorrie (John) Moore, both of Hitchins, along with several nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family, mourn his loss.
Jimmy will be remembered for his unwavering love for his daughter Jamie and all his family. Generous and dependable, he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, enjoyed working on cars, and shared memorable moments cooking with his mother.
Throughout his life, Jimmy worked diligently in various occupations; however, his greatest fulfillment came from his roles as a devoted dad, son, and brother. He often found solace in heartfelt conversations with his mother, where they shared their love for Jesus and the strength his faith provided him throughout his journey.
Now, Jimmy rests in the comforting embrace of our Lord and Savior.
A memorial service honoring Jimmy’s life will be held at 1 PM on June 10, 2026, at the Iron Hill Church of Christ, with Bro. Bobby Bond officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon, prior to the service.
