John Russell Steiner, age 59, of Hitchins, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Born on April 23, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the beloved son of James Donovan Steiner and Glenna J. Tolliver Campbell.
John was preceded in death by his cherished brother, Glen Campbell, and his stepfather, Woody Eugene Campbell. He was a proud graduate of East Carter High School, Class of 1984, and served his country honorably in the United States Navy, a testament to his dedication and commitment to service. John worked as a former FMD Aid at East Carter High School and as a Deputy Jailer.
A devoted sports fan, John found joy in cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals and the UK Wildcats, often sharing these moments with family and friends. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his precious grandchildren: Lennix Kyle Everman, Layla Ariel Everman, and Lola Moon Everman. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
John is survived by his loving daughter, Laura Beth (Austin) Everman of Olive Hill; his brother, Kevin (Jackie) Campbell of Crane Creek; and a host of friends and extended family who will deeply miss his warm spirit and infectious laughter.
Funeral services will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with Bro. Tom Riffe officiating. Visitation will begin at 5 PM on the same day, allowing friends and family to gather and share their memories of John.
