Johnny Leadingham, 87, of Grayson, KY, was called home to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 21, 1938, in Beetle, KY, to the late Henry and Hazel Jenkins Leadingham.
Johnny was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 62 years, Tonie Adams Leadingham; as well as his two beloved sons, Richard Leadingham and Bruce Leadingham, Sr.; grandson, Bruce Leadingham, Jr.; and two infant siblings, baby boy Leadingham and Lois Leadingham.
Johnny was a gifted mechanic with a steadfast work ethic. He faithfully attended the Dixie Park Freewill Baptist Church. He cherished his family and was deeply loved by them in return. Johnny enjoyed quiet moments spent cat fishing and gardening, indulging in the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his two sons, Chester Leadingham of Grayson, KY, and George (Renee) Leadingham of Carter City, KY; his daughter, Johnda Brian Messer of Grayson, KY; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Johnny is also survived by his two sisters, Edna Combs and Jesse Sparks both of Grayson, KY, and brother, Herman Leadingham of OH, along with a host of extended family, church family, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Malone Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Scott Lambert. Burial will take place in Leadingham Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, as well as from 9:00 AM until the service hour on Tuesday.
