Joseph “Joe” Lee Walker, age 64, of Grayson, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with The Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his residence. Born on January 25, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, Joe was the beloved son of Emmelyn McGhee Walker of Grayson and the late Raley Walker, Sr.
Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1979 to 1985, demonstrating a commitment to service that mirrored his dedication to family and community. For over 40 years, he was a master auto body mechanic at Lemaster’s Body Shop, where he not only honed his craft but also took on the mantle of ownership, working alongside his father-in-law. His strong work ethic and passion for his trade were evident to all who knew him.
A devoted member of Mavity Freewill Baptist Church, Joe found joy in his faith and community. He was an avid fan of UK sports, and his love for fishing and family vacations created cherished memories that will be treasured by those he leaves behind. Joe’s greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, Chloee Joelle Baier, Tucker Kyle Baier, and Emily Claire Biddle, who were the sparkle in his eye and the light of his life. He loved taking them on four-wheeler rides and sharing in their laughter and adventures.
In addition to his mother and grandchildren, Joe is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Beverly Marie Lemaster Walker; his daughters, Cassie (Rob) Baier and Aulbrey (Nathan) Biddle, both of Grayson; two brothers, Raley (Diane) Walker, Jr. of Raceland and Bill (Mary) Walker of Grayson; two sisters, Jan (Chuck) Griffith and Lisa (Greg) Felty, both of Grayson; and a host of close friends and extended family who will deeply miss his presence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with Bro. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens, where Joe will be honored with military honors. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the service hour on Thursday.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Rob Baier, Tommy White, Tim Moore, Casey Miller, Carl Fraley, and Charles Frank Sexton.
