Karen Lynn Steele Duty, age 63, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Carter Nursing and Rehab in Grayson, Kentucky.
She was born December 9, 1962, at the Stovall Hospital in Grayson, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Earl and Colleen Dickerson Steele.
Karen worked in food service at Shoney’s in Grayson, Kentucky. She loved baking, playing word games and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Duty; one grandchild; two brothers, Ricky Steele, John Steele; two sisters, Beverly Blevins and Phoebie Wilburn.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Richard Duty, of Grayson Kentucky; two sons, Richard Duty (Ashley Buckel) of Lynchburg, Virginia, Kevin (Jessica) Duty of Grayson, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Danny) Oney of Webbville, Kentucky, Sue (Larry) Mauk of Grayson, Kentucky; and many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky with Brother David Valendingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Edison Cemetery in Mayhew Flats, Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026, until the service hour at Grayson Funeral Home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
