Kayla Danielle Blake, age 37, of Morehead, Kentucky, was called to her eternal rest on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born on January 29, 1988, in Morehead, she was the cherished daughter of Sandy Darlene Parsons of Grayson and the late Richard Rodriguez. In addition to her father, Kayla was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kennedi Grace McWhorter; and her grandfather, William Thomas Seagraves.
A proud graduate of East Carter High School, Kayla pursued her passion for helping others by earning a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She dedicated her career to serving as a registered nurse at the Addiction Recovery Institute of America, where her compassion and commitment made a profound impact on the lives of her patients.
Kayla was a devoted mother, pouring every ounce of her energy into the love and care of her children, Kennedi Grace McWhorter and Oliver Trent Blake. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were the foundation of their lives. Kayla had a big heart and was always seeking ways to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the true essence of kindness and generosity.
In addition to her children and parents, Kayla is survived by a son, Oliver Trent Blake of Morehead; a brother, Adam (Kaliebeth Flaugher) Parsons; a sister, Hannah Rodriguez; niece, Isabelle Parsons; her grandmother, Elsie Louise Seagraves; a uncle, Kevin (Rhonda) Parsons; and a host of friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with Bro. Daniel Lucas and Bro. Brandon Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Gollihue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM on Friday and will continue after 9 AM on Saturday until the service hour.
Pallbearers will be: Adam Parsons, Zachary Parsons, Mike Seagraves, Billy Hall, Sammy Clark and Ray Ratcliff.
