Larry Gene “Moose” Davis, 66, of Rush went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his residence. Moose was born April 20, 1959, in Ashland, KY a son of the late, Roy and Hazel Hutchison Davis. In addition to his parents, Moose was preceded in death by, four brothers, Clifford Ray “Jimbob” Hutchison, Donald Davis, Thomas Davis and Teddy Davis; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Hutchison and Jack Lucas. Moose had a strong work ethic, having bought his first excavator at 20 years old and went on to be a self-employed excavator operator and later did logging work. Moose attended Ross Chapel Community Church. Moose enjoyed watching westerns, riding four-wheelers, ginseng hunting; and most especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Moose is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Wilson Davis; a son, Brandon Tomblin; a daughter, Summer (Clint) Nichols both of Catlettsburg, KY; five grandchildren, Lexy Jo Nichols, Layla Bryant, Bailey Nichols, Taylnn Strother and Landon Nichols; three sisters, Brenda (Junior) Hale, Linda Lucas and Rita Jo Hutchison all of Rush; two brothers, Ronnie (Arvilla) Davis of Argillite, KY and Charles (Iris) Davis of Rush; a sister-in-law, Maria Heine Hutchison of Rush; and many friends and extended family who all mourn his passing. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Jimmy Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery in Rush.
