Lucretia Lou Kouns Martin, age 59, of Grayson, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her residence. Born on November 3, 1965, in Grayson, she was the beloved daughter of Inise C. Gilbert Kouns and the late Samuel “Sammy” Kouns.
Lucretia was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy came from nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving home. She had a vibrant spirit, with a passion for dancing that brought joy to those around her. Her laughter and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her father, Lucretia was preceded in death by two cherished grandchildren, Edwin Christopher Tolliver and Glen Curtis Tolliver. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Timothy C. Martin; five sons, Chris (Kristen) Wilburn of Olive Hill, Cory (Jessica) Tolliver of Sandy Hook, Damian Martin, Jason (Michelle) Martin, and Dustin (Kathy) Martin all of Grayson; and five adoring grandchildren, Tabitha Wilburn, Olivia Wilburn, Serenity Wilburn, Colton Tolliver, and Holden Tolliver.
Lucretia is also survived by her loving mother, Inise; two sisters, Ruth (Steve) May of Grayson and Samantha (Richie) Mortensen of Vidalia, GA; two brothers, Rick (Holly) Kouns and Terry (Amanda) Kouns, both of Grayson; a special nephew, Preston Kouns; as well as a host of friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Lucretia’s life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2 PM at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with Bro. Tom Riffe and Bro. Brian Flannery officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnson-Gilbert Cemetery off Ben’s Run Road in Olive Hill. Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until the service hour on Thursday.
