Margie Sue Gough, age 67, of Salt Lick, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Ridgeway Nursing Home in Owensboro, Kentucky. Born on January 27, 1958, in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of Fred and Helen Thomas Malone.
Margie dedicated many years of her life to her career at Kay’s Jewelers in Morehead, Kentucky, where her passion for jewelry and customer service shone brightly. She was a proud member of the Diamonds Association of America, reflecting her commitment to excellence in her work.
Above all, Margie cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Steven Gough of Morehead, Kentucky, David (Brittany) Gough of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Rachel Gough of Morehead, Kentucky. Her love extended beyond her children to her cherished pets, who brought her immense joy and companionship throughout her life.
Margie is survived by her loving sister, Marilyn (Larry) Thompson of Grayson, Kentucky, and her brothers, Mike (Linda) Malone and Bill (Jennifer) Malone, both of Grayson, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Malone, who will be lovingly remembered.
A service to honor Margie’s life will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest in East Carter County Memory Gardens, where her memory will continue to shine brightly.
