Mitchell Allen “Pete” Bivens, age 68, of Garrison, Kentucky, passed Monday, November 24, 2025, with his wife, daughter and son by his side.
He was born April 9, 1957, at his home in Garrison, Kentucky, a son of the late Alex Asbury Bivens and Iris Ginn Bivens.
Pete retired as a construction foreman. He was also a lifelong farmer and farm equipment mechanic. He will be fondly remembered as “the tractor man”. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, his animals and listening to country music.
Pete was devoted to his family and cherished time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Donald Bivens, David Bivens, Charles Bivens, Floyd Bivens, Jessie Bivens and one sister, Jewell Freeman.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cathy Tackett Bivens; one son, Zachariah (Malinda) Bivens of Falmouth, Indiana; one daughter, Jennifer (Roger) Clere of Oak Harbor, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Lucas Bivens, Carter Bivens, Jordan Fegan, Madison Clere and Abbi Clere; eight brothers, Mike Bivens, Ronald Bivens, John Bivens, Roger Bivens, Keith Bivens, Mark Bivens, Robert Bivens, Jerry Bivens; three sisters, Edna Bivens, Linda Lou Carter and Susie Penrod, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue, Garrison, Kentucky, with Brother Morgan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery in Garrison, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025, until the service hour at Globe Family Funeral Chapel.
