Nancy Helen Newman Fannin, age 78, of Mount Orab, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born on Tuesday, April 29, 1947, in Grayson, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Raymond and Gladys Whitt Newman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Newman.
Nancy dedicated 28 years of her professional life to human resources at McAlpin’s and Dillard’s in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was known for her kindness, integrity, and unwavering support for her colleagues. Her career was marked by a commitment to helping others, a reflection of her nurturing spirit that extended far beyond the workplace.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy’s greatest joy came from her family. She shared a beautiful partnership with her loving husband, Marlin Fannin, with whom she celebrated 59 ½ years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Nancy was a passionate traveler and loved embarking on outdoor adventures with her husband and grandchildren, instilling in them a sense of wonder and appreciation for nature.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Marlin Fannin of Mount Orab, Ohio; two sons, Thomas D. (Rhonda) Fannin of Hillsboro, OH and Jerry M. (Leona) Fannin of Winchester, OH; her cherished grandchildren, Jackie, Kari, Brittany, Haley, Clay, and Emily; and her adored great-grandchildren, Jace, Eve, Kai, and Wyatt; along with a host of extended family and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Nancy’s legacy of love and compassion will be honored by her grandchildren, who will serve as pallbearers at her funeral.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Malone Funeral Home, with Elder Steve Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Horsley Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visit from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Tuesday.
