Nancy Sue Wilburn Root, 76, of Grayson, KY went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the King’s Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Nancy was born on Tuesday, January 4, 1949, in Grayson, K, a daughter of the late James L, Jr. and Doshie Griffith Wilburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Wilburn and Jamie Wilburn.
Nancy was a devoted Christian. She read her Bible daily and taught Sunday School at the Goebel United Methodist Church. Nancy enjoyed reading and writing poetry, cooking, and working in her flower gardens.
Nancy is survived two sisters, Linda Wilburn of Grayson, KY and Doye (Ralph) Felty of Oldtown, KY; two nieces, Melissa (Darrell) Mayse and Tonya (Phillip) Billups; eight great nieces and nephews, Colton (Ashlee) Mayse, Dylan (Darcy) Mayse, Natalie (Colin Cox) Billups, Gracie (Dalton Smith) Billups, William Billups, Isabella Mayse, Kallie Mayse, and Luke Mayse; one great- great nephew, Hudsyn Mayse; and a host of extended family and friends that will all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Malone Funeral Home Bro. Josh Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Hannah Cemetery.
