Nancy “Topsy” Keeran, 83, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Grayson, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 31, 1943, in Follansbee, WV, Topsy was the cherished daughter of James and Annie McDarmont Fleischman. Topsy’s vibrant spirit and unwavering faith were evident in her dedication to her church, the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Grayson. She enjoyed working alongside her husband as First Lady during his 22 year presidency at Kentucky Christian University, where her compassionate nature and warm personality left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike.
Topsy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dr. Keith P. Keeran of Louisville, KY; their two sons, Keith L. Keeran of Ashland and Shannon D. Keeran of Columbus, OH; and their daughter, Angela (Todd) Keane of Louisville, KY. Topsy also leaves behind her beloved sister, Margaret Ann Yingst of Follansbee, WV, along with three brothers: Jim Fleischman of Dallas, TX, Rob Fleischman of North Ridgeville, OH, and Don Fleischman of Niles, MI. Her legacy will continue through her six grandchildren: Justin Butler, Brady Keeran, Moriah Lynn, Joshua Keane, Samuel Keane, and Leah Keane, along with two anticipated great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Topsy’s life will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Kentucky Christian University Nash Chapel, with Bro. Donald Damron and Bro. Scott Eynon officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, with an additional hour of visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
