Omerea Elam, 82, of Grayson, KY was welcomed into heaven on January 8, 2025. Omerea was born on April 17, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Croler Flaugher and Bertha Blankenship Flaugher. Omerea left a lasting impression on each person she met. She attended Better Life Church in Morehead, KY where she was baptized by her grandson, Brandon Sparks. She impacted many lives as a bus driver for Carter County Schools for 25 years. Omerea was loving, funny, full of joy, and never passed on an opportunity to do something spontaneous. Omerea lived her life to the fullest and was proud to share that her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She was the proud mother of Darlene Fleming (Charlie Andrews), Angie (Keith) Sparks, Kevin (Cam) Marshall, and the late Scotty Justice, and the late Timmy Spillman, the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by the father of her children, George (Betty) Marshall, who was always there to lend a helping hand. Omerea was also preceded in death by her companion, Cecil Shirkey.
A graveside service will be 12 noon, Friday January 10, 2025 at the East Carter County Memory Gardens with Bro. Brandon Sparks officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
