Pamela Love Evans, lovingly known as “Pam,” “Mom,” and simply “Grandma” to those who loved her most, passed away peacefully at the age of 78.
Pam was born on February 15, 1948, in Maysville, Kentucky. She spent nearly her entire life in Vanceburg, where she built a life centered around faith, family, hard work, and serving others. For 59 years, Pam shared a wonderful marriage with the love of her life, T.W. “Grover” Evans. Together they built a family that was her greatest pride and joy.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Grover; her children, Lisa Evans Swicegood, Beth Evans Wood, and Jason Evans; her grandchildren, Cameron Cole, Courtney Bruce, Walker Wood, Drew Wood, Emily Wood, Alex Wood, Jaycee Bellamy, and Parker Evans; her great-grandchildren, Bentley, Kinsley, Weston Bruce, and Brantley Bellamy; her sister, Karen Moore; and her brother, Allen Love.
She was preceded in death by her parents; William T. Love and Jean Crosby Love. Pam attended Morehead State University before beginning a career that reflected her dedication and strong work ethic. She served as secretary at Lewis County High School for more than 20 years, co-owned Love Hardware, owned and operated the Vanceburg H&R Block for 12 years, and faithfully served as Treasurer for the Lewis County Extension Office. Whatever the job, Pam took pride in doing it well. She had an incredible eye for detail and seemed to always know the answer whenever someone needed help.
Pam will be remembered for her kind heart, steady presence, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She was the person everyone could count on, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness that will continue to live on through the family she treasured so deeply.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides, and staff who compassionately cared for Pam during her final days. Their kindness, dignity, and unwavering support brought great comfort to both Pam and her family.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Tom Cox officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Mason County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m., Sunday, July 5, 2026, until the service hour at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Cameron Cole, Tyler Bruce, Allen Love, Dane Blankenship, Kenny Claxon and Howard McCain will serve as pallbearers.
