Randy Gene Adkins, 59, of Grayson, KY went to be with his Lord Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. Randy was born on Friday, October 8, 1965, in Ashland, KY a son of the late Carolyn Adkins Sloas and Darrell Sloas. In addition to his mother, Randy is preceded in death by one son, Dalton Cole Adkins and his maternal grandmother, Ruby Sparks who loved and raised him as her son.
Randy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Randy’s family was everything to him and his grandchildren brought him so much joy. Randy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his yardwork.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-one years, Leora Sue Adkins; one son, Retired Sergeant Christopher (Christa) Spillman of Morehead, KY; two daughters, Tara (Michael) Wilder and Celsey (Devin McAfee) Adkins both of Grayson, KY; a cousin, Skyler White of Grayson, KY who he raised and loved like a son; six grandchildren, Gracie Pruitt, Violet Blanton, Christian Holbrook, Charlotte Spillman, Colter Spillman, Everlee McAfee, and two precious grandbabies on the way that he got to see and hold before anyone else; one sister, Lesa Gillum of Grayson, KY; two brothers, Chris Sloas and Brian Sloas both of Grayson, KY; and a host of extended family and friends that will mourn his passing.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Chris Spillman, Michael Wilder, Devin McAfee, Chris Sloas, Brian Sloas, Ethan Stone, and Alex Gee. Honorary pallbearers will be Weylin Messer and Jeremy Messer.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Ronnie Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
